Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Parmesan Topping:

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

For the Ranch Spread:

  • ¼ cup ranch dressing
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
  • Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Butterfly the chicken breasts by slicing them in half horizontally to create thinner pieces. This helps them cook evenly.
  • Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  1. Cook the Chicken:
  • Heat olive oil in the skillet (or brush on the grill grates).
  • Cook the chicken for about 5–6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from heat and set aside.
  1. Prepare the Ranch Spread:
  • In a small bowl, mix the ranch dressing with 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
  1. Make the Parmesan Crust:
  • In another bowl, combine Parmesan, Provolone (or mozzarella), panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix well until crumbly.
  1. Assemble & Melt the Topping:
  • Preheat your oven broiler.
  • Spread a layer of the ranch mixture over each cooked chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle the Parmesan crust mixture evenly on top.
  • Place the chicken on a baking sheet and broil for 2–3 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbly. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
  1. Serve & Enjoy:
  • Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Serve hot with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Tips for the Best Parmesan Crusted Chicken:

  • If you don’t have a grill, a cast-iron skillet works great for a nice sear.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor.
  • You can swap Provolone for Gruyère or white cheddar for a different taste.
  • Adding a drizzle of garlic butter before serving enhances the flavor even more.

This copycat LongHorn Steakhouse Parmesan Crusted Chicken is crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor, making it a perfect dish for a family dinner or special occasion. Enjoy!
